Hind Al-Abadleh

Biography

Professor Hind Al-Abadleh is an expert on issues of air quality, climate change, soil/water pollution, environmental impacts of nanomaterials.
Pofessor Al-Abadleh completed her PhD degree at the University of Iowa followed by postdoctoral training at Northwestern University. She is currently based in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Among her leadership roles, she is a Fellow at the Balsillie School of International Affairs in Waterloo, Chair of the Atmosphere-Related Research in Canadian Universities (a special interests group with the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society), an Executive on the Board of Nano Ontario, and Past Chair of the Environment Division in the Chemical Institute of Canada. Her award-winning research programs are in atmospheric chemistry, air quality, geochemistry and environmental remediation.

Through her research, teaching and outreach activities, Professor Al-Abadleh aims to highlight chemistry’s role in explaining environmental problems and transitioning humanity to a more sustainable future.
