Yasmine is a policy advisor/political staffer to Canada's Minister of Natural Resources. Her work includes a focus on Indigenous reconciliation, nuclear energy, youth engagement in the climate space and other policy areas.
Yasmine is also the founder and president of the Ottawa chapter of Zero Food Waste Canada, a non-profit organization that strives to divert excess food from landfills and fight food insecurity.
Yasmine holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies with a minor in Political Science and a Master's degree in Political Management from Carleton University.
During her time at Carleton, she discovered her passion towards climate action after studying consumer culture theory and ended up leading an environmental awareness campaign on campus. She also founded the Arab Students League, a Carleton University-based Arab cultural organization, during her time there.
