Imam Aarij Anwer was born in Karachi, Pakistan and grew up in the Greater Toronto Area. He serves as the Director of Religious Affairs at the London Mosque.
He holds a Bachelor of Computer Science (Waterloo), Bachelor of Education (Toronto) and Bachelor of Islamic Sciences in Fiqh and Usulul Fiqh (Al-Madinah International University, Malaysia).
Previously, he founded Qutoof Academy for advanced Arabic studies, published an Arabic curriculum for Islamic schools at Bayyinah Institute and published a book on the Prophet’s (S) supplications.
He is a Zakat advisor for the National Zakat Foundation, as well as an instructor for AlKauthar Institute. He lives in London with his wife and four daughters.
As the Imam of the London Muslim Mosque, Imam Aarij was at the forefront of community and media outreach after the fatal attack on the Afzaal family in London Ontario in June 2021.
